Moorcroft's Description
During June and July, traditional hay meadows are the jewel of a British summer’s landscape. Often, they can be discovered filled with bright and beautiful summer flowers such as golden cowslips, great burnet, green winged orchids and ragged robin - creating a carpet of jewel like colours for us to enjoy. Sadly, over 97% of England’s hay meadows alone have been lost since the 1930s, but small fields and difficult access in remote parts of our countryside have helped many exquisite species survive in this rare and important habitat. Emma Bosson's, in Hay meadow Jewels, celebrates a few of her favourite floral jewels from hay meadows near her home in this limited-edition design.
